The 2013 Australian Open Comes To Town

By Darren

With the Australian Open due to start this Thursday at the Royal Sydney Golf Club it is going to be one heck of an event.

With Jason Day coming off a win last week and Adam Scott two wins from the two weeks before it really is one of the strongest fields assembled for a time in the history of the event.

"Adam's presence is an enormous boost, it is the kind of boost we used to get back in the heyday when Greg Norman was in his absolute prime," said Pitt.

"There has been such an expectation and anticipation of seeing Adam in the flesh after everything he has achieved this year. We have seen that in Queensland, we saw it in Victoria and it will be the same in New South Wales."

The last time the Championships were held at the eastern suburbs course in 2008, the tournament saw John Daly infamously smash a fan's camera against a tree and Allenby abused by drunken fans at the now-abandoned party hole.

Let's hope for a more sober event this year with action packed birdies.
